Who am I?
My name is Thomas Ekelund and I am 30 years old. I currently reside in Gothenburg on the Swedish west coast. I work as in house art director and graphic designer for the synthesizer manufacturer Elektron Music Machines. I also try to do as much freelance work as possible in my free time. Currently most my work is for iDEAL Recordings and its mother company Nefertiti, but in the past I've had assignments for such diverse clients as Service, Modern Times Group, Universal, eClassical and countless others. The rest of my time is divided between sound art – I release records solo as Dead Letters Spell Out Dead Words and in a host of long and short term projects such as Dead Violets, Kill Kill Kill For Inner Peace and Normal Music – and graphic art. Currently my inspirations range from contemporary pop trash culture, classical typography, alchemy, punk rock, 80's toys & black metal.
What do I do?
Most of my work the past few years have been in print for various music related clients, I would say about 90% of my production is flyers, posters and record covers. While I love doing music design I do not not want to limit myself to doing just that. If you got a project in mind don't hesitate to contact me.
